Tools & Tips

I found these kitchen drawer inserts at Home Depot. I guess you could use TV dinner trays but I hate TV dinners. When you're taking apart two brake calipers or four carbs, these are handy for keeping the parts together.
Dental picks are invaluable if you're as anal as I am. When I rebuilt my Goldwing brake calipers I used these to clean out the piston seal grooves. When you can't see the entire groove and you start seeing crap coming out of nowhere, you'll realize they're worth their weight in gold. Your dental hygienist replaces a number of these every year; be sure to ask her to save you some.
I bought this little chap at a bicycle store. Ask for a shock pump. The newer style mountain bikes have air suspension. $50 Cdn.
